Have you ever been abruptly awakened by an alarm clock you almost threw out the window? Who hasn’t, right? I bet you have also hit the Snooze button more than once, but did you know that that is the worst thing you can do? By hitting the Snooze button you will be going back to the beginning of the sleep cycle, and that’s the worst part of the sleep cycle to wake up in since you will only wake up feeling groggy and grumpy.
If you are having a difficult time getting out of bed and always find yourself hitting that Snooze button, try to think of something personal that will motivate you to get up for work. An idea that has always worked for me has been keeping my job and being able to pay rent at the end of the month. But if you need some extra help, hopefully the following Android alarm apps will help you get out of bed.
Puzzle Alarm
I’m sure that you have an idea how this app helps you get out of bed just by reading the name. Well, you’re right. You won’t be able to hit the Snooze button so quickly because you will have to solve a puzzle to get the alarm to stop ringing.
Puzzle Alarm has a feature called “Wake-Up Helpers” that will guarantee that you wake up in time. For example, you can program an emergency contact to wake you up if you are one of those heavy sleepers that an alarm can’t even wake up. This emergency contact will be sent an automatic text message asking them to call you to wake you up. If you want to edit the message, you can do so. You can also make the camera flash go crazy if you think that that is going to help you wake up.
You can set up the app to wake you up with either a Color and Shape Puzzle, Memory Cards, Math Equation, Captcha or even a photo that you have to rearrange. You can either set the app to wake you up with one game or a maximum of five consecutive games. If that doesn’t wake you up, I honestly don’t know what will. There are also three levels of difficulty for the puzzles, three soft tones for the alarms, and if you want to be gently woken up, you can set the sound of the alarm to gently increase.
Alarm Clock Plus
Another app that will hopefully get you out of bed is Alarm Clock Plus. With this app you can set up as many alarms as you want and your alarm will always ring, even if your phone is silent. You will also have to use your math skills to turn off the alarm, but this app doesn’t have the variety of options like the first app. With Alarm Clock you only have the option of deactivating the alarm with a math equation. Don’t worry, you can set the difficulty level to Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard or Very Hard. Go to Settings and turn on the New Problem option since you will be given a new problem to figure out if you can’t answer the first one you were given.
Life Time Alarm Clock
Another Android alarm clock you will like is the Life Time Alam Clock. With this app you will enjoy looking at a design, and this app does something that the others don’t: you can make the snooze button more annoying. You can choose between annoying tones such as 80’s alarm clock, Air Horn, Heavy Metal, War!. British Police Siren, Future Alarm clock and more!
You can also set how high you want the alarm volume to sound; you can choose between Low, 2-8, and Full. There is a gradual fade-in feature I like, and you can set it to zero seconds, three seconds, ten seconds, thirty seconds or one minute. It even come with a flashlight; just long-press on the clock to turn it on.
Conclusion
Hopefully, these alarm clocks will make getting up in the morning easier. Let us know which one you use in the comments.
