Hi, there folks. We are back again with yet another android error fix: This time for the App could not be downloaded due to an error 920. As we all know most of the errors in Android are associated with the Google Play Store. The majority of these Android market errors are solved by a simple clearing of cache and data of the Play Store but while this solution works for some it may not for others. As I have stressed earlier there is no one-shot solution for these Google Play errors so you will have to experiment with different fixes and solutions before getting your apps to download again.
Here are a couple of fixes for the infamous error 920 or “App could not be downloaded due to an error 920”.
Method 1:
- Turn your wi-fi off
- Turn your wi-fi on
- Run Google Play Store and install or update the app
Method 2:
- Go to settings»Accounts» Delete your Google account synced with Google Play.
- Restart Phone and add your Google account back in the settings. Alternately, add a different Google account.
- Run Google Play Store and download your app.
Method 3:
- Go to settings » Apps » Open “All” tab
- Find and click Google Play Store »Clear Cache and Clear Data
- Now from the same tab uninstall Google Play Store Updates
- Restart your phone, open Google Play Store and install the app
Update for App could not be downloaded due to an error 920 should be solved by using the above method. Hoping for your comment if there is anything else.

Followed all of this and now I get the “Package file is invalid” when I try to download apps or update them. Can’t seem to get around these errors! Too bad I can’t download to my computer and then load to the phone!!

Got that error when trying cyanogenmod 10.1. None of the three methods would clear the error. Blew CM away and restored touchwiz (samsung s4 droid 4.3) as fix.

To fix it what it said that there was an error 920 and beside it, it says error sign in (gmail name) so you only have to sighn back in for me
I just logged into Google+ and all was well.
Keep kicking it until it gives in!! Eventually it works – I tried all three methods about three times before it admitted it was beaten.
After I cleared the cache, the play store doesn’t offer an update option. How do I repeat the update.
I got a 920 error from the play store on a Facebook update. I cleared the cache and now want to manually update facebook. but, the update option is not available. How can I manually repeat a failed app update after a 920 error
PLAYSTORE IS NOT UPDATING ANY APPS OR DOWNLOADING ANY APPS…IT SHOWS ERROR 920…SOO WHAT CAN WE DO TOO FIX IT…PLZ SOMEONE SUGGEST TO OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM…PLZ
THANK U..METHOD 3 WORKED
Tried the third one and it worked like a charm! Much Thanks!
Doing just “Go to settings » Apps » Open “All” tab Find and click Google Play Store »Clear Cache and Clear Data” worked for me.
